13 Weeks

Here goes nothing. This is my first blog post ever. I wanted to start one of these a long time ago, like a year ago a long time ago. That worked well, huh? Almost a year ago today I moved to Alabama to live with my husband who is in the Army, if any of you don't know. That was quite possibly one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. I'm a family person and everything I ever knew was in Washington. The year has gone by quick with a whole lot of excitement. I met a lot of wonderful wives at Fort Benning and I miss them all so much now that we're at different Army posts. I was able to see a lot of Justin's trainings and be able to be there for his graduations from his trainings. I was able to go home a few times which helped a lot! We also went to Maui for our 1 year anniversary and it was so great to go back to my favorite place ever. Well Maui isn't my favorite place, Hawaii is. Mostly Kaua'i. I'm bummed we won't get to make our annual trip this year but hopefully next. Anyways, we then moved from Alabama to Texas and my mom and sister, Angie, got to experience the whole thing with us. It was stressful but a fun trip. We spent a night and a morning in New Orleans eating the famous foods of there, my favorite was the Beignets from Cafe Du Monde. Our next stop was Houston, TX. Lame. Justin, Mom and Ang will all agree with me. And then we made it to our destination, Fort Hood, TX. Texas is no Washington but for now it's our home away from home.
I was able to go home from November to January and that was amazing! It's always the best thing to be able to go home and see all my family and friends that I miss so much. Justin was able to come home for a few days for Thanksgiving and then a little longer for Christmas. In December we went to Vancouver with my mom, Cody and Angie. Good times in Canada, eh? Christmas time was fabulous to be able to see all our family  and just to spend some quality time together.
January brought me back to Texas where I decided it was time to maybe look for a job. I wasn't all so excited to look for a job when I could lounge around all day. :) So maybe that's why it took until February to find the job. It was probably part that and that there were hardly ever any openings for what I wanted. However, before the job came another surprise. We found out I was pregnant with our first precious baby on January 30th. The next Monday I was offered a job at a bank here on post. Lots of big changes in a short amount of time. But that's enough about the job, let's talk more about this baby! Actually, I'm too tired to tell the story of how we found out about little Baby Dunkaroo so that will have to wait until tomorrow. I need to eat my second bowl of cereal for the day now.
P.S. I think I might like this whole blogging thing. :)
